Srinagar has Asia's largest tulip garden

Srinagar came into light with the possession of Asia’s largest tulip garden on Saturday. The area-in-news is packed with more than three lakh flowers - all in full bloom.

Also known as Siraj Bagh, the garden is embellished with beautiful tulip bulbs brought in from Holland. It was inaugurated by director tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah. According to Shah,

This is going to be another attraction for lakhs of tourists visiting Kashmir as an extensive range of tulips can be spotted here.

Srinagar has Asia's largest tulip gardenDirector gardens and parks K K Sharma revealed it would turn into the second largest tulip garden in the world once the entire area of 28 hectares is brought under flower cultivation.

K K Sharma included:

Since tulips don’t last for long, we are going to establish an array of flowers like lilies to keep the garden colorful during the entire summer. The department is also planning to combine the garden with the adjacent Nehru Memorial Botanical Gardens.
